Flu Vaccines will be available October 15, 2026.

Influenza vaccine is recommended and provided free for all BC residents > 6 months of age.

We strongly recommend it for people at high risk of influenza complications:

- all children 6-59 months of age
- adults 65 years of age and older
- pregnant women
- children and adults 5-64 years of age with underlying chronic health conditions
- Indigenous peoples
- those capable of transmitting influenza to those at high risk (household contacts of those at high risk, health care workers, and visitors to health care facilities), and people who provide essential community services.

You can receive the flu vaccine at Woodland Family Practice by calling to book an appointment with our registered nurse Karen.

If you already have a booked appointment for another concern, your doctor would also be happy to give you the flu vaccine at the same visit.

Alternatively, for all those over the age of 4, you may also receive the flu vaccine at your local pharmacy.

The flu vaccine will be available as an intramuscular injection for all ages, as well as a nasal spray in limited quantities for ages 2 to 17.
