COVID-19 Safety Plan
Woodland Family Practice in committed to your health and safety. We are currently providing a hybrid of in-person and virtual appointments.
Our clinic has implemented the following
COVID-19 safety measures:
– Health screening upon registration
– Infection control measures with regular sanitization of surfaces after each visit
– Minimize risk and exposure by minimizing the time you spend in the clinic during a visit by sometimes speaking to you by phone first
– Staff who exhibit symptoms will remain home
– Staff wear PPE and practice hand hygiene
Same-Day Appointments
Physicians at Woodland Family Practice have allotted rapid access appointments each clinic day to attend to urgent health issues the same day. Staff & physicians will triage these requests and try their best to meet your needs.
Parking
There is free street and residential parking near Woodland Family Practice. We ask that the parking in front of the clinic on Nanaimo Street be prioritized for patients with disability, mobility issues and are pregnant or early postpartum.
Cancellation Policy and Late Arrivals
24-hour cancellation notice is required; otherwise, there may be a charge for missed appointments. Please note that if you are arriving late for your appointment, it will be at the doctor’s discretion if they will be able to fit you in that day or need to reschedule the appointment.
Medication Refills
Physicians at Woodland Family Practice do not refill prescriptions without an appointment for reassessment. Please book an appointment with your doctor at least 2 weeks before you are due to run out. The College of Physicians and Surgeons expect that physicians will see a patient and reassess the condition requiring that prescription.
Scent-Free Clinic
Woodland Family Practice is a scent-free space. Please do not wear perfumes, colognes or essential oils to the office as it can impact physicians, staff and other patients.
How to Help Your Doctor Stay On Time
Please present all of your concerns at the beginning of the visit and you and your physician can decide what is your most urgent need. Be prepared to book another visit if you do have multiple concerns.
Why Your Doctor May Run Late
Physicians fit in emergencies throughout the day. Some patients may have complex needs. Physicians make calls between patients for care coordination. “Quick questions” do not always have quick answers. Patients who bring multiple issues will slow the physician down. Patients sometimes leave the most urgent matter to the end of the visit (so please do not do it!).
Appointment time is Approximate
Be prepared to wait up to one hour to be seen or for your physician to call. Please be mindful of the time allotted for your appointment and make an additional appointment ifs you have multiple concerns. A standard appointment is 10 minutes.
Is Woodland Family Practice Accepting New Patients?
At this time, our clinic is NOT accepting new patients. If in the future, we are able to accommodate more patients, we will let you know.
